You're a Tumaini Sponsor...now what?
Thank you for your heart! The love of Christ is most evident when we express our compassion through giving to those in need. James tells us that pure religion is when we look after orphans and widows in their distress. You are doing just that...living out your religion and faith in God in the most amazing way possible.
Now, we want to encourage you to think outside the box and realize that there is much more than just stroking a check each month and financially supporting your child. Think of this child as one of your very own. You are free to involve yourself in deeper ways than just the giving of money. There are no requirements, mind you, but this child of yours would love to be involved with you on a more personal level. They desire to know you and sense your love and encouragement in tangible ways!

Gifts
Sponsors are allowed to send their child a gift on holidays and birthdays. Other gifts can be sent every three months.

Letter Writing
Sponsors are allowed to write to their children as often as they prefer. Encouragement letters, scriptures, pieces of advice, and motivational letters are highly recommended. Sponsors may also send pictures of their family to their sponsored children. About every three months, you will receive a letter from your child including such things as their academic reports (when available), pictures of them, and a report from the director of Tumaini on their overall progress and development.

Visitation
Sponsors can visit their children to see how they live, experience their culture, and participate in Tumaini's daily operations. You may visit for a short trip (1-2 weeks) or you may stay for an extended amount of time.
If you have questions about joining SportsPlus on a short-term mission trip and traveling with a team, you may contact the ministry to find out details on any upcoming trips.
