Construction of the new Tumaini Orphanage is underway!
The new building will house over 50 of Kenya’s most vulnerable children. The expanded space includes a “common room” for the children to play, study, and relax in, two dormitories, offices, and kitchen space. It also has clean water well access, an attached health clinic, and is even prepared for electricity. These additions will allow Tumaini to offer every possible opportunity to its children.
Currently, walls have been completed for the boy’s dormitory, along with the common room and several offices. Cement floors have been laid, a roof attached and the finishing touches are being added. We hope to move our 17 current orphans into this space within a few short weeks.
This new site will greatly expand our capacity to help. It has the additional benefit of being more cost effective once built. This means that your donations to help construction stretch far into the future and ensure that Tumaini will be around for years to come.
